AVATAR UPDATE - Thought I should add that over the 3 day holiday weekend since my column entitled “Avatar and the Art of Buzz…Now in 3D!” was originally published, Avatar grossed another $300 million in box office receipts worldwide, putting it over $600 million total worldwide box office in its first 10 days.  And with another week of holiday vacation for many filmgoers around the world, this express train to money town does not look like it will be stopping any time soon.  It now seems apparent that James Cameron will have the #1 and #2 all-time worldwide grossing films with Titanic and Avatar.  An amazing and unprecedented feat.  Was it really only just a few weeks ago that it was still in doubt whether Fox would ever recoup their investment on Avatar?  Clearly it pays to be in business with James Cameron.  Click the link above to see my original Avatar column on mediaite.com
